Warm up your skin!!!

As my skin is alot paler in the winter I always tend to change my blusher. Two favourites of mine that I'm loving at the minute is Benefit Coralista and Mac Peachykeen.
Benefit Coralista leaves a gorgeous finish on your cheeks. The powder is silky, has a very slight frost to it, and applies like an absolute dream. It can be built up for a soft flush of colour or stroked full on for a fantastic colour pay off!

MAC Peachykeen...I am completely in love with this blush!! Its a fab colour, perfect for Irish skin: it's a peachy bright pink with accents of gold!! Being a MAC product, it is not cheap, but it's worth every penny! It goes on smoothly, is not too translucent, and lasts a very long time!!

Highlight....xxx

This is a step many people either forget or get completely wrong. By highlighting the right parts of the face you can create a more youthful glowing appearance. The best places to highlight are as follows:

:Upper cheekbone /browbone - Just apply a hint of highlight on the upper cheekbone and the outer part of your brow bone. If you have alot of lines go very very lightly as this will emphasise them. Don't put too much on the brow bone, too much will make you look older. I always just apply on the outer part of the brow bone.
:Centre of the nose - This really suits anyone with dry skin, definitely avoid if you get an oily t-zone

:Centre of the forehead - This gives a more youthful look. Avoid this area if you have oily skin

:Inner eye - This is suitable for everyone, it instantly opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake

:Cupids bow - Apply highlight just at the centre of your top lip.this instantly makes you lips look fuller. Don't apply highlight to the cupids bow unless its hair free...you don't want to draw attention to a ronnie!!!

Best highlight colour for you.......
For pale skin tones - Use sheer eggshell colours
For medium skin tones  - Use golds and rose golds
For Dark skin tones - Use deep golds and bronzes
For black skin types - Use burgandies and dark shimmery chocolates

Some of my favourite highlighters and what I use in my kit are....

Mac - Pearl

Dior Amber Diamonds

Beauty Bargain from Aldi....xx

Sorry I haven't blogged much, I'm a a busy bee with my little monster. His mastered the art of asking questions!!!..Normally I can sit down at the laptop while he has zoned out with peppa pig..but not anymore!!! everything is WHY?????.
I've picked up another cheap and cheerful product from good old Aldi. I dragged myself away from the biccies aisle again (after buying 4 packets of biscuits!!) and wandered to the beauty side. I stocked up on cotton pads, face wipes, cotton buds, even deodorant (David's convinced I'm gonna loose the skin under my arms...lol,either that or I'm gonna stink!!!..).

I decided this time to try a lip gloss. They come in 5 different shades, gold shimmer, soft shimmer, soft brown, espresso and chocolate.
I bought the pearly pink shade (soft shimmer) which is a nice clear neutral gloss which is great over lipstick.  I also bought soft brown which goes a nice nude shade when applied. Overall they are nice lip glosses, which lasted longer than some of the more expensive brands I've bought. It isn't sticky and glides on smoothly. It's small enough to stick in your pocket and handy to use for a quick application before you get out of the car. For 2.49euro you can't go wrong.

False Lashes.....xxx

False lashes are everywhere at the minute. No amount of mascara will ever give you the dramatic effect of false lashes, you can completely change your appearance and your eye shape. Bear in mind when choosing the length of your lashes, for e.g., if you haven't got much space between your lash line and your brow bone, you won't want them too long because you can almost look clownish.

There are so many different types out there and so far these would be my favourite....
From the Girls Aloud Collection.....Nicola lashes -these are really long in the corners which is great to create a winged out, almost cat-eye look.
Kimberly Lashes - These give great big lashes...good volume and length - I find the rest of the lashes are just  too big and obvious...
From the Sex in the City ones, I love the Samantha ones- these give great volume....
Ardell Lashes from Boots....I have to say..i love most of there lashes...if I had to choose, id pick the 117's and demi pixies.

My favourite online brand are from a website...www.lovehotkandi.com...these are so delicate and very like the MAC lashes - but half the cost. I've bought all of these and always carry them in my kit. See a link below for a youtube video explaining each of there lashes.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa_J7aI3ow8
For me personally on clients, I tend to use individual lashes and build up a look suited to each client or occasion. I can't do these on myself - I'd have them stuck everywhere!!!!!
A great way to check if you have used the right lashes is, when they are on, look straight up, hold a mirror underneath to check that the false lashes blend with yours, and there are no gaps. Also remember, the glue must be dry if your applying mascara afterwards, because the slightest tension can pull the lash off.
Most eyelashes are sold with a complimentary lash glue, but I would recommend you invest in a tube of Duo Lash Glue. This is a surgical glue - great for even sensitive eyes, waterproof and sticks great. I find the complimentary glue is crap....it doesn't stick very well.

There's nothing worse than seeing pictures on facebook and you've only lashes on one eye!! and there you were thinking you were gorgeous

Do's and Don't with Lashes.....
Don't
: Use too much glue....as the glue won't dry and it can seep into your eyes...
: Use lashes too heavy for you natural lashes to hold---this can make you look older
: Trim lashes after you've applied them - your guaranteed to cut your own lashes(I've done this loads of times)

Do...
: After you peel the lashes of the packet, move them around to soften up the strip.
: Curl your lashes before you apply false lashes - if you try it afterwards you can pull them off..
: Always wait about a minute for the glue to go tacky on the lash before you apply it..
: Always run a line of liner along your lash line before as a guideline and also after so you cant see the glue....

Quote - Remember that lashes are like shoes - you need to fit them, some will be too long, short or heavy - Rae Morris....x

Quick Tip - Blusher

Blusher is the hot finishing touch for dull winter skin - so many people don't use it and are afraid of it....
Apply it high on the apples of your cheeks, blending in a circular motion back into the hairline.
: If you find you blush really easily, and the idea of blush scares you, swap pink blush(which can make you look too blushed), for soft peach(for fair skin), or terracotta(for tanned or darker skin).
Slan.....
