Review - Bronze Leaf Spray Tan

I just wanted to share a new tan I tried at the weekend, at The Beautique Ennis. For the last two years I have always gotten the Rock Tan Spray Tan here and loved it,  but unfortunately it would be a right messy b**ch to get off. Id look fab for two days and then a scummy mess for a week until I finally scrubbed it off.

This tan, Bronze Leaf has the same golden finish but is lasting brilliantly. It is exactly 7 days after my spray tan and people are still asking me what tan I'm wearing. I have exfoliated lightly and moisturised all week and is fading brilliantly. It dries straight away and it was flawless. I had no white patches or messy bits. Alot of this is down to the high quality of the tan but also Emer who applied it. She is a perfectionist and just brilliant at applying tan. This tan would be fantastic to get before a sun holiday.
The great thing about this tan is that they have three different levels to choose from. They have a light, medium and dark.
The light is for those with fair skin who are just looking for a glow. The medium is the most popular shade as it is a safe golden shade, not too dark or light. And then finally the dark shade, this is best suited to anyone with a darker skin tone or someone looking a darker richer colour. This shade will last the longest.
I of course went for the dark shade, nothing like a bit of brown to make the lumps look better. This was really dark but not orange, more of a deeper golden shade. Normal girls will love the medium shade but the darker the better for me..lol.
Also the lightest shade is marketed to suit brides and is perfect just to give a light wash of colour which will be perfect for brides nervous of  having marks or looking obviously tanned.

The tan itself is organic and contains exotic botanical extracts. Aloe Vera has anti-ageing properties which help tone and firm the skin. Lemon peel extract is a natural astringent and Macadamia oil has long been valued for its ability to protect , soothe and condition the skin. Whats more all their products are paraben and alcohol free and is widely popular for sufferers of eczema and rocacea as it doesn't cause flares ups.

Review - Dove Summer Glow

I love the idea of using tan but sometimes find them way too much work. I think I have found an easy, usable product to help give a light natural tan.

Let me introduce you to Dove Summer Glow Gradual Tan.
 I had used this type of product years ago when Dove and Johnson & Johnson first released them. They are a gradual moisturising tan and the memory of half of Ireland walking around with orange streaky legs had put me off ever looking at these products.

Luckily for me I was sent this to review from the lovely Fiona at Think House.

As I have a slight hint of blue off me at the minute, I was almost contemplating doing a course on the sun bed - just to take the corpse look of me...AND then along came this and I Love it. It took me only two applications to get an  even colour, a lovely subtle tan, and it left my skin so soft. It gives such a nice golden colour which is very buildable. On top of all this it's still a really good moisturiser. You just apply it in circular motions using your hands. I always use baby wipes to clean my palms and between the fingers. I apply it night and thankfully it doesn't stain your clothes or bed clothes and you wake up with a healtyy glow.
My tip for this product would be to keep applying it daily once you start using. I find when I don't apply everyday it fades quickly and then you gotta start scrubbing it off. I also like to use this after I've had a spray tan, just as its beginning to fade, you get way longer out of it..

This is only €6.49 and is a must have for all us pasty Irish girls. The colour I have is medium - dark.

Best Priced Tan :

St. Moritz Tan

This has to be one of the best priced tans out there. It' s a very easy tan to use. It gives a natural light golden colour as opposed to an orange colour that alot of tans give off. I am not the neatest of fake tan appliers - I tend to slap it on and go. This tan works for me because I always wake up with an even streak free tan. It also doesn't have an overpowering smell and doesn't stain sheets (or babies..many a night I've turned danny murphy into a mini oompa loompa). The best way to get the most out of this tan or really any tan is to exfoliate prior to applying the tan as this will remove any dead skin cells and allow you to get a even smooth tan. The only downside to this tan is that it is pretty drying to the skin and fades patchy. But for 4.99euro for a massive bottle you can't go wrong.

Best Luxury Tan:

St. Tropez:


This is my go to tan for a night out. It gives a fabulous skin kissed colour and a streak free finish. Its that bit darker than the St. Moritz. I always use the Mousse with a mitt and it goes on smoothly. Its also nice if your looking a bit pasty, to just put a pump of the mousse on a cotton wool pad and blend into your face at night. You wake up with a really nice, natural glow.

I recently had this tan done for a wedding. I had it done in The Beautique, in Ennis. I couldn't believe how mess free this tan was. It drys almost instantly, you could go back to work after having this done(if you don't mind being in work without a bra on..lol). Its organic and the colour is gorgeous. Its so natural and I think this is really suited to pale irish skins. Definetly one to try.
