Highlight....xxx

This is a step many people either forget or get completely wrong. By highlighting the right parts of the face you can create a more youthful glowing appearance. The best places to highlight are as follows:

:Upper cheekbone /browbone - Just apply a hint of highlight on the upper cheekbone and the outer part of your brow bone. If you have alot of lines go very very lightly as this will emphasise them. Don't put too much on the brow bone, too much will make you look older. I always just apply on the outer part of the brow bone.
:Centre of the nose - This really suits anyone with dry skin, definitely avoid if you get an oily t-zone

:Centre of the forehead - This gives a more youthful look. Avoid this area if you have oily skin

:Inner eye - This is suitable for everyone, it instantly opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake

:Cupids bow - Apply highlight just at the centre of your top lip.this instantly makes you lips look fuller. Don't apply highlight to the cupids bow unless its hair free...you don't want to draw attention to a ronnie!!!

Best highlight colour for you.......
For pale skin tones - Use sheer eggshell colours
For medium skin tones  - Use golds and rose golds
For Dark skin tones - Use deep golds and bronzes
For black skin types - Use burgandies and dark shimmery chocolates

Some of my favourite highlighters and what I use in my kit are....

What do your spots mean...???

Do you ever wonder if it's a coincidence that when you're hormonal you break out with a juicy second head on your chin (the last thing you need at that time of month!)? Getting spots on certain parts of the face can tell you what's going on in your body .

So what exactly do spots on certain areas mean? And once you've identified what could be the cause of blemishes and flare-ups, can you treat the cause to prevent them?

Spots on the forehead :
Whilst a fringe may help to hide a blemished forehead it could also collect grease from styling products and sweat causing spots in the first place. But fringe or no fridge it could be all down to your diet.

Alot of spots can indicate that you have been doing the dog on having too much red meat, saturated fats, proteins and alcohol, so cut down on these food groups and the boozing. Try doing a bit of a detox; cutting out meat and booze in favour of fresh veggies, herbal teas and water.

Spots on the cheeks :

Cheeks can be one of the most tender areas to find a spot - and the hardest to deal with so try addressing the cause.
Spots on the cheeks maybe the result of too much meat, sugar and dairy products.

Spots on the jawline :
These spots are again diet related. Spots on the jawline can indicate congestion in the large intestine, often caused by heavily processed foods.

Processed foods can mean anything from ready meals to biscuits so think about what you're eating. I have started get getting these recently..but I think that is because I've started living in the biscuit aisle of Aldi...ohhh but they are yummyyyyy!!!

Spots on the chin :
Few girls don't get a spot (or four!) once a month that makes your chin feel like its set to explode but ‘period spots' are not products of our paranoia, they really can be hormonally related.

Spots on the chin generally relates to hormonal fluctuations often at period or ovulation time. Unfortunately there's little you can do about this, unless it's a very bad problem in which case discuss it with your doctor.

To treat spots the advice remains the same as ever - try hard NOT to squeeze or pick them with dirty fingers and use a medicated products to treat and conceal.

Whats the best eyeshadow for you..???
Best colours for:
Blue Eyes:

: Browns, greys, golds, rusty peaches or plum colours. Use colours 2 shades darker than your eye colour.

Good MAC colours for blue eyes......

Naked Lunch all over the lid (this is a pinky champagne colour).
I'd use Twinks ( a deep plum brown) or Sable which is great in your outer V or crease. I'd use Vanilla as a highlight. For a black smokey look I'd use Black Tied or Typographic.
For a smokey eye with colour I like Humid or Sketch as greens and purple which make blue eyes pop.

Brown Eyes:

: Purples, pinks, blues, greys, golds and browns. This is really one of the best eyecolours as you can get away with most colours.

Good MAC colours for Brown Eyes:

I love All that Glitters on the lid, then Mac Expresso in the crease. (Mac Expresso us a good matt brown shade. You can use it as a liner, shadow and brow filler).
For night you can go for a very strong smokey purple or blue eye. I love woodwinked all over lid then blended out, and also on the lower lash line, Expresso in the crease and along lower lash line also.

Green Eyes:

: Gold, dark greens, purples, peach, bronze, lilacs and medium pinks.

Good MAC colours for Green Eyes:
Amber Lights all over the lid and star violet in the crease. Good purple colours are, Trax, Nocturnelle and Star Violet. Good Brown/ Gold colours are wookwinked, Satin Taupe, Antiqued and coppering.
