Top 5 MAC Bridal lipsticks

I am always being asked what would be my favourite bridal lipsticks from my kit.
I always recommend MAC and they would be generally be my go to brand for bridal lippies.

Unless you are a bride that is used to wearing bright reds or purples, it is better to choose a natural shade that will enhance your look.
Everyone has a different lip tone so I would recommend going into Brown Thomas and getting them to colour match you.

Here are my top 5 neutral shades, from lightest to darkest:

: Blankety - a soft beige pink..

: Creme Cup - light babydoll pink

: Angel - most popular. It's a beautiful pink shade that suits almost everyone

: Patisserie - the perfect my lips, but better shade

: Syrup - a muted plummy pink , a sheer wearable lipstick

I will do my favourite brights for Bridal next.

NYX - My Top 5 Products

I wanted to do a post about the newest drugstore makeup brand to have landed in Ireland, called NYX. Like all brands there are some standout products and some products that are a complete waste of money.
I've gone a bit crazy in the past few weeks and I've collected a good few of their products. Hopefully this will help anyone that's not too sure where to start when they start seeing these stands in chemists. For anyone living in Clare, the chemist back in Kilkee stock it and I've heard the chemist in the grove is getting it but I still haven't seen it in there.

Here is a Long list of some of my favourite products.

NO. 1 - Lip Products
I am so impressed with all things lips with this brand. I could list so many but I'll stick to just 3 favourite lip glosses and lipsticks. My 3 favourite lipsticks are from the Matte collection. The first is the red below which is called Indie Flick, which is a great bright orange red. This is considered a dupe for MAC Lady Danger. The middle is my favourite called Euro Trash is a brown/pink shade. A dark natural colour. It reminds of the 'Kylie Jenner' shade everyone is lusting after. The last shade is called Tea Rose which is a dark mauve colour with a hint of pink. It gives a pop of colour without being too over the top. All three would be perfect shades for this time of the year.

My 3 favourite butter glosses are Maple Blondie, Vanilla Cream Pie and Strawberry Parfait. I just love the texture of these, lovely and pigmented and not at all sticky. They are also so hydrating.
I'll eventually end up buying them all for my kit.

NO 2.

Next up on the list is the HD concealers €6.99each. These beauty's are so brightening for the oulde eye bags and are brilliant for covering spots or other imperfections. I love the yellow shade and 06 - Glow. They are very high coverage so they can be a bit drying if you suffer with fine lines. I always make sure I've applied eye cream before these and stops it looking dry. There are 8 different shades and 3 different correctors. I will also more than likely collect all of them for my kit they are so yummy..xxx

NO. 3

Blushers.
These babies are just the best value. They are only €7:49 and they are so buttery and soft and pigmented. My fave out of these is Peach,Angel and Taupe. The Peach blush is actually not a peach shade. It gives a pinky flush to the cheeks and has no orange or coral tone to it. Angel is just the perfect soft shade if you want an everyday blush, great for any look or for someone who is afraid of blusher or is very pale. I particularly like this if I'm going for a smokey eye or red lip and not too sure which blush to go with.
And then lastly is their most talked about shade, Taupe. This is an all round shade. It can be used as blush, as a contour powder and also as an eyeshadow. It is such a wearable shade and the kind of contour shade that's not too obvious. If you have olive or very tanned skin I would stay away from this as it will look too ashy.

NO. 4

Next up is their Jumbo Eye Pencils

I've 3 of these, Milk, black bean and dark brown..I love these as eyeshadow bases. I  smudge them all over my lid and they act as a base or primer for eye shadows or pigments and make eyeshadow colours much more vibrant. I wouldn't recommend these for the waterline as I find they smudge very easily under the eye and you'll look like a raccoon after a few hours.

NO 5.

NYX Matte setting spray

This is a great lightweight spray which I find really does help keep shine at bay. I apply this before and after my makeup. It also comes in a dewy finish for anyone that likes that finish. This is brilliant to keep your makeup in place and keeps you skin feeling fresh and hydrated.

I hope this helps, talk soon girlies..xxx

Review - Kate Moss Lipsticks for Rimmel

I finally dragged myself to Boots to try out the much anticipated lipsticks from Rimmel designed by Kate Moss and I was not disappointed. The packaging of each tube is black with a matte finish and Kate's signature on the lid and they were only 6.49euro each.
.
The seven shades have been hand chosen by Kate herself and I wanted them all but would definitely be divorced if I landed out with a pile of lipsticks. The hubby stood outside the window with the snotty chile staring in the window of Boots watching me drooling over the lipsticks..lol...I eventually forced myself to pick just  2 to try out and wasn't disappointed.

I bought No. 3 a perfect not-too-pale nude and No. 5 a brighter pink shade. They were 6.49 each in Boots. I played it safe and picked No. 3 the nude colour to go with a nice smokey eye and the brighter pink colour no 5 to brighten up a natural eye. I made the mistake yesterday walking through Dunnes where I reached into my bag thinking I just had the No. 3 in there and generously smeared it all over my lips. Half an hour later driving home I nearly crashed the car I'd be smearing the bright pink No. 5 all over me puss, not a pretty sight. I looked like I was just let out for the day!!..the bloody shame...IThe lipsticks are highly pigmented and feel quite moisturising on the lips. I don't find them to be particularly long lasting like their supposed to. I found the longest they lasted was for about an hour but that doesn't really bother me. think I'll invest in the red and fushia shade...

I think for a makeup artist this whole collection would be a fab addition to your kit but for someone looking for just a lipstick for their own makeup bag No. 1 the red, and No. 3 the nude would definitely be worth investing in...xxx

Lipsticks I'm Loving....x

, bI have always been a fan of nude lips and have been afraid(for me) to try dark or bright colours because I have small lips. But my inner diva has come out...lol....here is 4 of my top new brights which I've been bravely wearing.....

MAC...Ruby Woo

I have searched high and low to find a wearable shade of red and I've finally found it. It suits everyone and is definitely a must have for a makeup artists kit.....

MAC....Girl About Town

This is a gorgeous bight pink lipstick with hints of fuchsia. This was made famous by Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue rocking this colour for most of last years X Factor. This is my new go to lipstick for a night out.
I also found a cheaper version of this...its Barry M 145 Punky Pink..a third of the cost of MAC but almost identical in colour.

Heres a picture of me wearing Girl About Town during the day and being very brave .....

2 more lipsticks which I can wear everyday or at night is 2 from Avon. They are from the Ultra Colour Rich Colordisiac Range. the new colours I have which i think would be the best from the range is Can't Resist Coral and Red Hot Lips. They can be applied sheer or build up the colour with 2 or 3 coats. These are really moisturising and can brighten up your daily makeup look....They are on sale in Avon Brochure 9 for 7.50euro each.....

My new fave lippie and only 2.99...xxx

I've heard quite a lot about the Natural Collections lipsticks so I thought I’d pop into Boots (any excuse..lol) and have a look. Natural Collection is Boots own brand and I never really stopped to look at them because they kinda look like they are marketed for teenagers. I ignored the rest of the products and focused on the lipsticks(even though some of the blushes look really nice). With the lipsticks, some of the colours are a bit wishy washy but my all time favourite was the shade Rose Bud.
It's a gorgeous natural pink, really handy to have in your bag and looks fab for everyday wear. It was only 2.99euro and it really is a good buy and the quality is really good. This is one for my makeup bag. Here's a peek at it.....

Quick Tip...xx

Lipstick Lip-Trick
You can use your lip liner as a lip stick color . just line your lips as usual and shade them in with the same liner of your choice. Then you can use a clear lipgloss or a sparkle lipgloss over it to give it a shine. Works for me , especially when i cant find the shade that i want to find :)
