Inglot Bridal Course Review

Hey girls,
I just said I'd give ye a quick overview on the Inglot Bridal course I have just finished. I just love doing masterclasses and watching how other makeup artists work. It helps you try new techniques and also pushes you as an artist to keep learning. When you specialise in Bridal it's so easy to fall into  a rut of using the same brands and colours. Doing these master classes you get to see the best of products that are specifically for bridal.
The course itself is a 3 night course which I think would be brilliant for beauticians trying to improve their makeup skills or for any makeup student just finished their diploma looking to specialise in Bridal. I think if you have worked as a Bridal makeup artist you will already have covered most things in this course. What it entails is a different look each night, covering the Classic Bride, the Vintage Bride and finally the Bohemian bride. The girls would demonstrate a different look each night and then you would try the look on your self with the help of the girls. Each night would run from 6pm to 8pm and the course itself costs €199.00.
I personally really enjoyed the course as I'm such a product whore. I loved getting so much product knowledge first hand and really getting to try all their best products. In my job its so important to be able to recommend products to clients.
The very best part of this course is Lisa and Lizan the 2 trainers. They have such a relaxed way of training. You laugh so much and learn with these two. They bounce so well off each other and go through everything and are so willing to help. My bank balance didn't like it as you end up wanting everything!!. I will do an updated Inglot haul next week featuring all these goodies and list my favourite new products.

Competition and Naked Palette Dupe Alert

Hey girls,
It's competition time again!!. I picked up this fab palette in Cara Pharmacy in Galway, and loved it so much I bought two, one for me and one for ye.
It is called the W7 In the Buff Palette. It looks and feels so like the Naked 2 Palette and only cost me €5.00. I NEVER buy those cheapy eyeshadow sets and normally stay away from the big 88 palettes as I find the quality so hit and miss and hate all the fall down, but the texture of these is so soft and surprisingly very good. It comes with 12 neutral shades, a mix of mattes and soft shimmers and also a handed double ended brush. It is such a wearable palette and is packaged in a sturdy tin case just like the Naked 2 Palette which is so handy for travelling or throwing in your bag. The majority of the colours are dupes for some of the Naked shades. I never bought the Naked 2 and will defo not be paying 45.00 bucks for it now that I have this. I think I actually prefer this to the original Naked Palette
To enter the competition all you have to do is copy and paste the facebook link and then write my blog name - fairydustmakeup.blogspot.ie -into the facebook comment.
Winner will be picked this Sunday and I will post it straight out to the lucky winner. Anyone can apply.....

Best of luck and Happy St. Patrick's Day...

Makeup Masterclass with Buff Makeup

Hi Girls,
I'm just back from a makeup masterclass with the amazing celebrity makeup artist Tara O'Farrell and Buff Makeup in the gorgeous G Hotel. There is so much hype and talk about the Buff products lately, so I jumped at the chance to see them being used. I hate ordering something without testing it out especially when they are so expensive. The products themselves are pricey enough but after seeing the finished results I wanted it all.
The stand out products for me was the famous HD foundation, the movie star cream and the eye shadows. Tara is a working model and makeup artist and shared all her tips and tricks. I love seeing other makeup artists at work and love seeing all the different techniques. She covered everything from contouring to eyeliner and took the look from a natural look right up to a glamorous evening look and really explained how to use each product. She is just so lovely and friendly and the class just flows. She couldn't have been more helpful and would highly recommend anyone from a beginner to a makeup artist to go to one of her classes. I also wont be digging into any biscuits or junk after standing beside her..she is just stunning...here's a few pics from today...xx

You can buy the Buff products at www.buffmakeup.com. Also check out Tara's facebook page for tutorials and fantastic tips and tricks https://www.facebook.com/Tara.Makeup
If ye have any questions on the course or the makeup just PM me girls...Laters....xxx

Beauty Bargain of the Week

Hey girls,
I just want to share these little beauties that can make such a difference to keeping your makeup last throughout the day, and the best thing is they only cost €3.49.
They are Catrice Blotting papers. They are small little oil control papers that soak up the oils on your face without affecting your makeup. By removing the excess oil it means your makeup lasts longer throughout the day.

If you suffer with an oily t -zone these bad boys will become your best friend. There is nothing worse than looking on Facebook on a Sunday morning and having a big shiny forehead or chin in every photo. A shiny t-zone will be highlighted with the flash in a camera. This little compact is so handy to throw in your jacket pocket or even clutch bag.
These are an absolute must for brides and bridesmaids.
Happy shopping..x

My 3 Favourite Eyeliners

Hey girls, I am always being asked to recommend my favourite products. I will go through them all eventually but to start here is a list of my favourite 3 eyeliners: pencil, liquid and gel.

Pencil:

Starting with pencil my favourite of all time is MAC's Eye Kohl in Smoulder. I love it because its really soft, it has great power and a really strong black colour. It's a bit on the pricey side at just under €20 but lasts forever. It also acts great as an eye base under pigments or glitter. I just draw it all over the lid then smudge it out and then press the glitter or pigment onto it. - Nice quick and easy party look.
This also is a great eye pencil for contact lens wearers.
P.S If you are one of those people whose under eye make or eyeliner tends to always smudge bad under your eyes I would advise to stay away from this...xx

Liquid:

- Catrice Liquid liner
What I love about this is that it has a felt tip brush which allows you to get a precise line. You can really control the nib. I hate those really thin brushes that normally come with some liquid liners.
Also the product itself doesn't dry too fast, so gives you just enough time to perfect that flick. It gives a dark black line that doesn't fade. I have this one the regular one and also in the waterproof version. The regular one would run in rain or if you were sweating and the waterproof one is budge proof for anyone with sweaty Betty eyelids. This is a great starting product if your starting out using liquid liner. I would say if you have sensitive eyes this might irritate. I find at night if I've been wearing it all day my eyes feel sore- yet I still wear it!!

Gel:

Last but not least - Inglot Cream Liner.

This beauty makes my job as a makeup artist easier. I have tried them all and this one wins hands down. It is such a smooth, brilliant product. It lets you create a beautiful black line. It doesn't feel dry or cakey on your lid. I use this blended out on the lid under glitter and pigments. It drys quiet fast though so I wouldn't hang around if fixing mistakes. You can also use this on for tight lining and in the waterline. I can get away with this wearing contacts as long as I let it dry. This has made my bridal kit and one for my own makeup kit. I have this in a few colours. The brown is fab to use in the brows.

Beauty Bargains of the Week...x

Hey girls,
I've been buying alot of makeup lately and am busy out trying them out properly before I review them.
Here's a quick post on 2 of these goodies that were absolute bargains and stand out products.
Catrice  - Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm and No. 7 Honey Blush.
I paid €4.89 for the Catrice Balm. With this  I love to colour in my lip with a neutral lip pencil and then apply this over it. The shade i got is 040 My Cherry Berry and its a handy go too product that you can apply without worrying you end up with lipstick all over your face. Its like a mix of lip gloss and lip balm. Also this didn't dry out my lips, its really moisturising. To me this is a dupe for the Clinique Chubby sticks but a quarter of the price. I haven't seen Catrice in Ennis but as soon as I get to Limerick I will be buying a couple more of these. Lovvvvveeeeee

            *********************************
Next up is the No.7 blush. This was €11.00 but I used a €6.50 off voucher from boots so it only cost me €4.50.
This is just the perfect daytime blush. Its is a warm brown/peachy colour that has a silky smooth finish and leaves a healthy glow to the skin. Perfect for all those Irish pale chicks out. Will suit anyone up to NC37 in MAC. Would probably be too light for anyone with a darker skin tone. I think this would be brilliant for someone starting out using blusher. You can't go wrong with it. It is also very buildable for all ye blush whores like myself..lol
Talk soon..xxx

New Brow Beauties...x

Everyone lately wants big beautiful brows. Here's 3 of my favourite brow beauties that I have recently bought and love.

NO. 1 - HD BROW KIT IN VAMP

I have to say I love, love, love this kit. I have seen this pop up in a few you tube videos and kept meaning to get it. I finally dragged my ass to Ennistymon and bought it from Body Treats Salon. They are the only local salon close to me that sells the HD products and offer HD brows and after checking out their amazing brows I;m definitely gonna go back and get the hour long treatment. The palette itself costs €25.00, which is a little bit pricey but its so worth it in my opinion.

Because I prefer a more defined brow I bought the darkest palette in VAMP which is the palette for dark hair. There are three palettes available, Foxy, Bombshell and Vamp each one suited to different skin tones and hair colour. I will definitely go back to get the Bombshell Palette for my kit.

The brow kit comes in a snazzy black palette with four shadows, a small brush and good big mirror. These powders can also be used as eye shadows too, so perfect to take with you for travelling. You can create a natural look right up to a full on smokey eye with this. I find the powder itself a bit crumbly so always tap the brush before applying it so you don't get too much fall down.

              NO. 2 MAYBELLINE BROW DRAMA

This in a nutshell is mascara for the brows. This would be brilliant for anyone with unruly bows or also for older ladies that have grey coming through in their brows. It coats the brow hairs and hardens them so they stay in place.

This is fab on its own for a natural everyday brow or at night I love to use this to set my brows after I've used shadow or pencil to create a darker defined shape that doesn't budge. .
This is a handy thing to have in your makeup bag.

INGLOT BROW SHAPING PENCIL

I rushed out and bought this when it was first released and was a bit pissed off as I thought it was just blahhhhh..and off down to the bottom of the makeup bag it went.

The next time I went into Inglot one of the girls explained that it's not your traditional brow pencil. It is designed specifically for brow shaping rather than precise strong colouring.
The pencil itself is a chunkier thicker pencil which is a soft waxy pencil. As I have light brows I find this doesn't give me enough definition. I run this over my brows to set them after I've used pencil or powder. It really does make them budge proof and gives a good shape without looking too over done.
If you have thin or very sparse brows and your looking for something that does everything then this is not the product for you.
This would be a brilliant product for someone that already has a strong brow and wants something quick that will perfect and define them in one sweep..x x
